One of the missions of SoundGirls is to provide and create opportunities for our members to gain valuable hands on experience through internships and mentorships. SoundGirls also expands opportunities for girls and women to share resources and knowledge through cooperation and collaboration with other female led nonprofits with similar missions.
We receive numerous requests to staff female led musical festivals and while we would love to support all them, we simply cannot.
We support and staff the annual She Rocks Awards that takes place in Anaheim, California during the NAMM trade show and GIRLSCHOOL a female created and led musical festival in Los Angeles, CA. Our members both veteran and rookies donate and volunteer their time for these events. All positions are unpaid, although in 2018 we hope to provide grants to pay key positions. In addition some of our chapters that are based throughout the world support events in their communities.
We have limited funding and time and cannot staff every request we receive. We do not want to discourage you from asking as opportunities for our members to volunteer are important. We have several ways that we can work together and provide your festival with a female technical staff.
